People are unreasonable, illogical and self-centered.
Love them anyway.
If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives.
Do good anyway.
If you are successful, you win false friends and true enemies.
Succeed anyway.
The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway.
Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable.
Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight.
Build anyway.
People really need help but may attack you if you help them.
Help people anyway.
Give the world the best you have and you'll get kicked in the teeth.
Give the world the best you've got anyway.

She knew a thing or two about leaving a legacy, regardless.
Wow-- something in that really spoke to me... I guess because I have struggled with/felt some of those discouragements when trying to do/be something good. I've often felt that the world rewards toughness and grit, rather than sensitivity and compassion. Nice to read those encouraging words by one who accomplished so much in this world. Thank you for sharing that.
And... thank you for the wonderfully insightful feedback on my blog re: my photo dilemma for the adventure woman interview. I LOVED reading your reasoning-- indeed I think you nailed something I felt during & liked about each of those photos. Thank you!! :)
